Mike Pontius has been developing websites since 1996. His first web venture was called New Media Marketing, which morphed into Digital Pitch. In 2000 Digital Pitch – which specialized in mid-sized web development projects – was purchased by a larger Internet company in the hosting and custom application space. The resulting combination was called Ulanji. Pontius became exec VP of operations for Ulanji where he headed a fast-growing team of designers, developers, customer service providers and sales people.
Ulanji’s mission was to build a state-of-the-art content management system (CMS). In 2001 version 1.0 was released. Growth stalled after 9/11 and the dot com collapse on Wall Street. And in 2003 and 2004 Ulanji went back to what Pontius knew best, website development.
In mid-2004, Pontius left Ulanji to help his wife build her company, Just Imagine, Inc.. Just Imagine is a complete web services firm committed to providing high quality yet cost-effective customer service. They currently offer the CMS tool built by Ulanji, now owned by another company.
Prior to entering the web development industry, Pontius was a marketing and management consultant and a serial entrepreneur.
